Quantum RF lift
Quantum RF (InMode): three-dimensional remodelling of the face and neck, without major surgery.
Duration
1 to 1.5 hours
Anaesthesia
Local tumescent anaesthesia
Hospital stay
Day case, at the practice
Recovery
Light activity after 3 to 5 days depending on recovery; result assessed at 3 to 6 months
Over time, gravity, the natural loss of collagen and changes in weight alter the contours of the face. The “triangle of youth” turns upside down: the skin of the neck creases, a double chin may appear and the jawline loses its definition to jowls.
For some mild to moderate laxity, Dr Afshin Yousefpour offers Quantum RF technology (InMode), a minimally invasive subdermal remodelling approach. It aims to improve tissue tension and contours, without replacing surgery when significant excess skin needs to be removed.
The protocol, step by step.
- Step 1
Aesthetic assessment
An in-depth consultation with Dr Yousefpour: analysis of the tissues and laxity, review of your history and confirmation of the indication.
- Step 2
The procedure
Treatment at the practice under local tumescent anaesthesia, for 1 to 1.5 hours. You stay awake; the anaesthesia aims to limit pain, without guaranteeing that you will feel nothing.
- Step 3
Recovery and follow-up
A chin strap worn as prescribed. Swelling and bruising are usual; light activity can usually resume after 3 to 5 days, with follow-up of the remodelling over several months.
Dr Yousefpour’s expertise: a personalised anatomical approach
“Advanced technology only shows its true potential in the hands of an expert in facial architecture.” — the approach described in the practice’s document.
Subdermal radiofrequency is a thermal remodelling procedure, not a simple surface treatment. Knowledge of the deep layers of the face allows the treatment to be personalised; it does not remove the medical risks.
Three-dimensional vision: taking into account the bone structures, fat compartments, blood vessels and the superficial musculo-aponeurotic system (SMAS).
Personalisation: depth, energy and tension vectors adapted to your anatomy rather than the same setting for everyone.
Anatomical precautions: handling the cannula to target the fibrous and fatty tissues while limiting nerve or vascular injury, without guaranteeing absolute safety.
How does Quantum RF work?
The document describes a fine cannula inserted under the skin through small entry points, paired with an external electrode. Bipolar radiofrequency flows between these two poles and heats the tissues in a controlled way.
The InMode system’s internal and external temperature sensors are designed to monitor the energy and cut it off when thresholds are reached. These safeguards reduce the risks but do not rule out a burn.
Tissue tightening: thermal action on the network of subcutaneous fibres, aiming to improve skin tension.
Action on fat: targeted reduction of small localised fat deposits, especially under the chin or in some jowls.
Biostimulation: remodelling of collagen and elastin over several months, with a response that varies between patients.
Indications: is it right for you?
Treatment can be considered for mild to moderate skin laxity. The indication and expected benefits are assessed individually.
A redefined jawline: a clearer boundary between face and neck.
Correcting jowls: a sharper contour of the lower face.
Neck rejuvenation: improving crepey skin and laxity under the chin.
Does Quantum RF replace a surgical facelift?
No. A surgical lift remains indicated when significant excess skin needs to be removed. Quantum RF can be an intermediate option between surface treatments and surgery for mild to moderate laxity, without guaranteeing that a lift can be postponed for a given time.
Is the result immediate?
An improvement may become noticeable as the swelling goes down, often after one to two weeks. Collagen remodelling then continues; the result is usually assessed between three and six months, depending on the individual response.
Will I have visible scars?
The document describes entry points of about 1 to 2 mm, hidden in natural creases, behind the earlobes or under the chin. They are usually discreet once healed, but the complete absence of marks cannot be guaranteed.
Is it painful?
The local anaesthesia aims to limit pain during the procedure. Afterwards, an aching or tight feeling may last a few days. The doctor advises on suitable painkillers and care; comfort varies from person to person.
Can Quantum RF be combined with other procedures?
Depending on the indication, Quantum RF can be combined with microneedling radiofrequency such as Morpheus8, to work on both the subcutaneous tissues and skin texture. Goals, order of procedures and intervals are decided by Dr Yousefpour, with information on the risks of each technique.
Nature and goals of the procedure
Quantum RF is a minimally invasive medical-surgical technique using a subcutaneous cannula to deliver thermal energy to the face and neck. It aims for targeted fat reduction and tissue tightening. Energy, depth and vectors are adapted to your morphology.
Usual recovery
Swelling, sometimes marked, for 3 to 7 days.
Bruising that may last 7 to 14 days.
Firmness, tightness or temporary numbness, which may last from a few weeks to a few months.
Slight leakage of anaesthetic fluid at the entry points during the first 24 hours.
Wearing a face support garment or chin strap as prescribed, to support tissue recovery.
Possible risks and complications
Despite thermal monitoring and anatomical precautions, every medical procedure carries risks.
Thermal skin burn: which may lead to a crust or scar.
Injury or irritation of a motor branch of the facial nerve, particularly the mandibular branch: an asymmetric smile, often temporary, whose recovery may take weeks to months and is not guaranteed.
Sensory injury: loss of sensation or prolonged tingling in the treated area.
Contour irregularities or persistent nodules: possibly needing review, massage only as guided by the doctor or, in some situations, targeted medical treatment.
Infection or haematoma: possibly needing medical treatment or drainage.
Pigment changes at the entry points, encouraged in particular by sun exposure.
Limits and expected results
The result depends in particular on your body’s ability to remodel collagen. Pre-existing asymmetries may persist and laxity that is too severe may require a surgical face and neck lift.
Carrying out the treatment, including its cost as discussed at consultation, is not a guarantee of a perfect result. Alternatives such as injections, thread lifts or a surgical lift are explained according to your situation.
Precautions and information to report
Follow the personalised instructions for post-operative care, hygiene and support garments.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least two months; apply SPF 50+ as instructed and add physical protection. No sunscreen gives absolute protection.
Report allergies and history, such as a pacemaker or defibrillator, autoimmune disease, pregnancy or clotting disorders, as well as all your treatments.
Abnormal pain, intense redness, heat or suspicious discharge must be reported promptly to Dr Yousefpour. For a severe or sudden change, seek urgent care without waiting for a WhatsApp reply.
Information and informed consent
The consultation covers the benefits, risks, limits and alternatives of Quantum RF. You must be able to ask your questions, receive clear explanations and have enough time to reflect before deciding.
Consent is obtained at the practice after this discussion with Dr Yousefpour. This page sets out the information in the document provided, without identity fields or signatures; reading it is not consent given online.
